Boys’ Life Magazine – annual dues for Troop 28 include a subscription to Boys’ Life Magazine, which is mailed to the scout’s home 12 times a year; the online website includes equipment reviews, articles about scouts and troops, and material “just for fun”
BSA guide to Insignia Placement – Troop 28 is fairly forgiving about insignia placement and comprehensiveness, but BSA has specific expectations for where insignia should be placed. If you need assistance sewing on badges, please contact the Advancement Chair for recommendations for local services who will sew patches on for a modest fee.

Scout Stuff – official BSA online shop for uniform, insignia, merit badge pamphlets, camping gear and more (note pricing for items at Scout Stuff is generally comparable to pricing at the local Council shop, and is almost always MUCH better than on Amazon.com)
NEIC Store, located at 850 Forest Edge Drive in Vernon Hills. NOTE the Highland Park location on Skokie Valley Road shut in the summer of 2018. The Vernon Hills shop is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The shop is closed on Sundays. Please check the NEIC site for updated hours.
