Description
As a courtesy to Troop 28 families, the troop carries patch-size sets (one hook, one loop) of beige/tan Velcro, cut to fit the most frequently replaced patches. It may or may not be the Velcro-branded product shown in the picture. Please specify the size you would like. Velcro is particularly ideal for patches that will likely change several times before a scout outgrows his shirt (Rank and Position), or to transfer patches to a new shirt when a shirt is outgrown.
TIPS: If you sew the Velcro on your self, it is recommended that you:
- Trim the Velcro very slightly smaller than the patch so it doesn't show along the edges or add visible thickness
- Attach the loop (fuzzy) side to the shirt and the hook (scratchy) side to the patch
- If you attach the loop side to the shirt as recommended, you can remove the patch when laundering (it will keep the edges from curling and limit wear) without the shirt getting stuck to everything else in the load!
