Board of Review

The next regularly scheduled Board of Review is Saturday, November 17th, 2018 at approx. 9:30 a.m. Reminder to Scouts: If you are seeking a Board of Review, please make sure you schedule a Scoutmaster review BEFORE confirming with the Advancement Chair that you will definitely have your requirements completed in time for the Board of Review. If you miss this session, the next regularly scheduled Board of Review will take place Saturday, December 15th, 2018, at approx. 9:30 a.m.

Troop Advancement Opportunities

Friday, Saturday (and possibly Sunday), November 2-4, Little House of Glencoe — opportunity for Scouts to camp overnight and work on Camping Badge, Cooking Merit Badge, and Rank Advancement Requirements (both teaching and demonstrating).

Friday and Saturday, November 16-17, Wisconsin Maritime Museum — this is a National Historical Landmark site and so counts towards Citizenship in the Nation

Afternoon or Weekend Afternoon, Wilmette Coast Guard — this is a federal facility and so counts towards Citizenship in the Nation

Upcoming Merit Badge Opportunities

Eagle-required Merit Badge workshops – two ongoing programs of single-badge workshops

  • Morton Arboretum (two Sundays, one each in December and January, ongoing enrollment)
  • Rolling Meadows Park District (Saturday workshops in the spring, sign-ups begin in November – search their registration site for “merit badge”

Pathway to Adventure Council Merit Badge Clinic in Barrington 11/17 – note: these are NOT instructional workshops; rather they are occasions where the PtA council have MB counselors on-hand to sign-off on badges scouts have already completed on their own. Contact the organizers to directly to ensure they have a counselor available for the badge(s) of interest.
